Noblesse Oblige - The Square Mile
Book Cover Design
The Noblesse Oblige book cover was
explicitly designed to evoke intrigue and anguish. I applied my abilities as a designer to give voice to the soldiers of WWI and the families of The Square Mile. Their sacrifice knew no boundaries.
Noblesse Oblige - The Square Mile:
The noble families of 19th century Montreal accepted that with great privilege came great responsibility. It is why they financed the hospitals of Montreal and McGill University. In The Great War, their privilege did not save them from loss and pain, in fact, it drove them to lose even more. Unlike the elite of today, this elite understood their duty was to shoulder the burden. Their actions define the phrase "Noblesse Oblige", which loosely translated means "Whoever claims to be noble must conduct himself nobly." This is their story.
